Select or create a new database.


AuditNet will use the ODBC drivers to maintain an actual device database. The database is fully compatible with Microsoft Windows Access and contains following information:

Before AuditNet can be used at all, a new empty device database must be created. Under certain circumstances the user will maintain more than one database. Probably just for testing purposes. Here are the instructions how to create a new device database or how to change the device database.

Create a new device database

To create a new device database we must use the ODBC setup utility.

Start 'AuditNet' to begin with the configuration.

Step 1:

2. Double click on 'Properties'.

Step 2:

Step 3:

2. If datasource 'DEMANDER' exists:

   - Select it and continue with 'OK'.

   - Move down and continue with Step 7:

3. Click on 'New...' to continue..

Step 4:

step4.jpg (42239 bytes) 1. Select 'Microsoft Access Driver (*.mdb).

2. Continue with 'Next'.

Step 5:

step5.jpg (27652 bytes) 1. Enter data source name 'DEMANDER'.

Note: This name is recommended

2. Continue with 'Next'.

Step 6:

step6.jpg (31666 bytes) 1. Confirmation of your datasource setup.

2. Continue with 'Next'.

Step 7:

    Click on 'Select...' to continue.

    Move down and continue with Step 11.

2. If you like to create a new database:

    Click on 'Create...' to continue.

Step 8:

2. Enter the database name 'MyDatabase'.

3. Important: Select Version 3.x for more compatibility.

4. Continue with 'OK'.

Step 9:

step9.jpg (10805 bytes) 1. Confirmation for successful file creation.

2. Continue with 'OK'.

Step 10:

step10.jpg (22460 bytes) 1. The datasource and database is now configured.

2. Continue with 'OK' to exit the dialogs.

Step 11:

step11.jpg (22253 bytes) 1. Click on 'Select' to select a different database.

Step 12:

step12.jpg (22183 bytes) 1. Select a .MDB file.

2. Click on 'OK' to continue.

3. Click on 'OK' again to exit and finish.

Step 13:

A new  or an exitsing database is now ready to use. If Microsoft Access is installed on your computer you may open the file to check the contents.
